One of the headlining acts at the Peach Festival set to start tomorrow are The Black Crowes. The band officially formed in Atlanta in1989 and went on to become an American icon offering a blend of Southern, Blues/Hard Rock that according to them was deeply influenced by Led Zeppelin, Humble Pie, The Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Buddy Guy. Led by the Robinson brothers they provided an extension of 70′s style hard rock that ran counter to the both the fading Synth Pop,New Wave scene and the budding frenzy for Alternative Rock and Seattle Grunge. In short they were able to directly carry on the 70′s tradition in such a way that kept it fresh and unique even though it wasn’t in style. It would be hard not to be touched on some level by Chris Robinson’s electrifying wail and the full Psychedelic tinged Hard Rock assault of the band regardless of what decade they had been born into. They released their debut “Shake Your Money Maker” in 1990 and the album was greeted with a great deal of critical and popular acclaim . “Jealous Again’ is indicative of the classic but individual energy The Black Crowes created with their music. They will cut quite quite a powerful image as they take the stage in Scranton,Pa. this weekend.
